How would you handle this? Neighbors won't cut yard...?

Q. O.k here is the deal my husband and I were trying to buy the property behind our house. For the last 12 years we have kept the half an acre nearest out home cut ( to keep away mice and snakes since we live in the country) Well we called to see if they would sell it to us because they once were considering selling the whole thing to my dad. Any way they refuse to sell which is fine but here is the problem(s) my mom went walk through the part we don't cut (looking for missing duck) and saw 4 baby water mocassins! I have two small children so naturally i'm concerned. Also my lawn mower broke (by the way I have to cut my acre and a little less than half of theirs so now I have to pay someone to mow THEIR YARD!! So my real question is how do I go about telling them to cut their yard without looking like i'm being spiteful since they wouldnt sell it to me. (if they care about it so much why won't they take care of it?)

Answer
Go to a local farm& ranch supply,or maybe your local hardware store. Pick up some remedy spray and apply to the section of land they wont mow. This stuff killls to the dirt and last about one year. Another thing you can do, is spread thru a simple granular spreader Rock Salt, the salt kills grass weeds etc and is cheaper that the product i listed.

I did this will my back hal acre

Answer
dont by any thing from a store like home depot or lowes unless you want to replace them again soon.

there stuff will not last.

Just go ahead and get good quality Hunter Brand PGP rotors. when installed correctly and put low enough to where the lawn mower and not put where an edger will hit them ive seen them last forever 15 years at least. only around 10-15 dollars each.

If you want the best Rotor in the world go ahead and get the Hunter I-20 stainless steel heads. there a few more dollars a head but worth it.

Home depot will have some that will work. like K-rain, rainbird, toro, and orbit brand, but coming from experience, you will not have any of these heads last very long. a few years tops.

and even those poor quality heads are pretty close to the price of the Hunter PGPs. there about 4 inches or so and you can change the nozzles that come with the heads for more or less distance and water coverage.
