I blew a piston on my riding lawn mower and I know that the pistons are kept underneath the flywheel. I've managed to take off everything except for the fly wheel and it's stuck on. I had my brother and me try to lift it and still couldn't get it off. Does anyone know how to remove it?

Answer
Loosen the flywheel nutand then put it back on just finger tight. Then hit the nut with a heavy hammer. Put a block of hardwood on the nut so you lessen the chance of ruining the threads. Then the wheel should be loose enough to pull off. For the amount of time and trouble and the money involved, you can buy a replacement motor from Harbor Freight and have a new one to install. A small engine rebuild is expensive and hardly worth the trouble when you can buy the replacement for about $600.

How to raise and lower wheels on a lawn mower with the levers?

Mag97

I have never done this and the lawn mower I inherited is too low for my grass and the motor cuts off. I mashed the levers on the side of the wheel and can't get it to budge either way.Help! I know it is silly, but I can't help it

Answer
how new is the mower? what brand? I know on my craftsman the lever on the right manually raises and lowers the deck. newer mowers may have hydraulic lifts...on john deere try inside lever on left
