Can the blades on the lawn mower actually be too short?

Becs

While I was out of town my mom came over and mowed the lawn for me. It was very nice of her, but of course, she "fixed" my lawn mower by lowering the blades and now it looks like I gave the lawn a buzz cut! Plus, my lawn is looking kinda brown. Can the blades be set too short on a lawn mower? Is it doing more harm than the good that mom was trying to do? (Please keep in mind that I'm not ripping on my mom! Bless her for doing that while I was away!)

Answer
Raise the cutting height of the machine and cut your lawn at about 21/2" - 3". That is the optimum height for the lawn, it will help keep it from going dormant when it is hot and dry and will choke out the weeds from your lawn without you having to use any weed and feed or other weed killers. Your lawn will be beautiful after a few weeks.

Does using a mulching mower kill your lawn?

I started using a mulching mower and suddenly my lawn is almost all brown.

Please help!!!

Answer
you need to adjust the height of your mower, its probably cutting your lawn to short, on the wheels theres an adjustment for height, so you can raise or lower your mower, and not cut your lawn too short.
