Q. Looking at getting a new push mower. I want something what will last for a very long time, but don't want to pay hundreds of dollars. My highest I would be willing to go is 350, but would like to spend much less. The four brands I have been looking at are Troy Bilt, Craftsmen, Toro, and Snapper. Any help would be great. I have been leaning more towards the Toro or Snapper, but I don't know if all I'm paying for is the name. Any thoughts would be great.
Answer
Check out Consumer Reports. They rate Toro as one of the best year in and year out. Snapper has been around for a long time, and they know what they are doing. I have seen more older Snapper mowers then any other brand. They take a beating and keep mowing. Troy-bilt is made by MTD, the same company that builds the very cheep mowers at Wal-mart and others. Craftsman, you can find you a good one once in a while. That is the brand I hear the most complaints about. Trying to get repairs done in a timely manner is next to impossible. I think you are doing good with Toro or Snapper.

I am doing a report for my job and have googled myself to death. I am looking for the average price of a Craftsman Riding Mower -1975- current, Craftsman Walk-Behind Mower 1975-current, and a Craftsman Weed Eater 1975- current, does anyone have any suggestions as to where I could find this information? I have exhausted all options and would greatly appreciate it!
