Fast Lawn Mower question?

How much would it cost to change a hydrostatic transmission to a transmission with a clutch and gear shift? I have a 16HP Briggs and Stratton Twined Engine 656cc Ford. I have to get a new pulley and I want it to be fast so what kind of pulley should I get.

Take it to the nearest engine specialist in Briggs and Stratton and ask them to convert it you. I'm guessing that there will be other things you will need to modify to compensate for a faster mower. http://www.gardensandlandscapes.co.uk

vacumm engine for a lawn mower.?

OK so i took apart an old vacumm cleaner (well its like 4 years old) and i have the motor with the fan still attached to it. It has the power cable still attached also so i can plug it straight into an outlet.

What i want to do is turn it into a lawn mower, now i know this might sound a little ambitious but hear me out.

If i tremove the fan, a blade could be attached to the shaft and would spin when i plug it in. all i would need then is a frame to hold the assymbly a couple wheels to push it on a handle and some type of guard to make sure if the blade flys of i dont die. lol

anyways does this sound probable? if so any ideas on mounting it to a frame, frame shape and materials, or anything else lol?

Although what you suggest is certainly feasible, it is a lot of effort for producing a roto-scythe, and then you,ve got to think up a grass box system.... In UK we can go to car-boot or garage sales and pick up all sorts of grass cutters for a song so I would not follow your path in this.. Flymo have put 40yrs of development into their grass cutters. ( I picked up a sophisticated one,from a car-boot sale for £20.. New price was £100 +.... It didn't cut as some plonker had put the blade on upside down !) I've just done my 1st cut of it's second season !! [ About 60pence a cut up to now for two lawns ! x 20 cuts]

im reading wikipedia and i cant make heads or tails of the gibber jabber that i see on the page.
should i just let the little guy go after my dad is donw cutting the grass (i saved him while i was pulling weeds and he jumped on my leg and i just couldnt let my dad end up running him over with the lawn mower so i kepp him for now) what should i do?

I keep them as pets in the UK but I've heard that in the USA that is not legal so your probably best to let him go somewhere safe where people won't disturb him and where he isn't going to get sprayed with insecticide or anything.

Pick a bush with leaves a similar colour to his body so he will be concealed from birds.

I just went on my first house tour and was amazed by the random stuff I found left behind. One house had a chicken figure with feathers glued on it. One garage had 3 lawn mowers, 2 printers, 5 tv's, 3 bikes, and much more...

I am wondering what funny/random/gross/amazing things people have found while touring homes or moving in.

I once sold a house in the UK that had been repossessed and had been left with a tap running for at least a fortnight.

The house had an abundance of fruitflies, mould, mildew damp and by the time we had sold it, it even had mushrooms and grass growing on the carpet.

He might be thinking of the Mother Earth news "Handbook of Home Made Power," which is not all that good. There are maybe 4 projects worth looking at, but they comprise only a small portion of the book. The book is more about just talking about home made power.
