best lawn mower engine 2012 image

Both are on the same FWD TORO self propelled mower body (model:20371 vs. 20331). I read the 190 has 6.75 hp and the 149cc has 4.2, but both claim 6.75 gross torque. Which is the better engine to go with? thanks much
p.s. I also was told both these engines were made in China .....

The B&S engine one is a 2011 model or older, the Kohler is a 2012. The B&S engine is the old "L Head" style Quantum engine that Briggs has used for years. Due to EPA emission regulations, those engines are being phased out in favor of "OHV" or "Over Head Valve" engines. The Kohler engine has only been out for a short time. I have yet to see one in action or service it. This is the first year we have had one in our shop. Another reason that the general public will not hear, is B&S owns Snapper and Simplicity. Toro sees them as competitors now. Either engine will last. Even if they are made in China, Kohler and Briggs will stand behind their engine. I would haggle on the Briggs since its a year older. Another way to tell what year it is, look at the first 3 digits of the serial number. If it starts with a 310, its a 2010, 311 is 2011 and 312 is 2012.

in the upcoming Speilberg epic, revisionist comedy,
"Snow White And The Seven Tripods" ( for Christmas, 2012 )

It looks like Stephen is pulling off another "1941".
The producer is also quoted as stating, " Rumors of any
strange behavior on the part of Speilberg, such as
appearing one morning on the set
in a ballerina outfit or any other signs of mental
instability are completely false".
The film, originally budgeted at $380 million is said to be running
upwards of $200 million over budget ($580 million total
with only half the film "In the can"). The producer had no comment on the budget,
but was heard mumbling to another of the now 40 producers, "In the can"
pretty much sums it up. This reporter caught a glimpse of Speiberg leaving the set,
driving a 1949 Crosley Sation Wagon (a mini car produced from 1948 through 1951)
I turned to a passing electrician and mentioned, "That thing sounds like a lawn mower"
He replied," That's because those things were powered by a 3hp engine, the same found in modern day lawnmowers". He quipped, "That "classic" is spewing enough pollution for 5
modern day Diesel 18 wheelers and, in a favorable wind, gets 1 mile to the gallon. I noticed Mrs Speilberg, following at a distance in a chauffeur driven Maybach limousine
