Cub cadet lawn mower wont start?

Jeff

I got a cub cadet lawn mower series 2000 lawn mower. 48 inch. I turn the key all I hear is a single click. Kinda like the safety neutral switch is not working. But I also got a light on it the dash. Now all the light have vibrated out of the original spot some time ago. So not sure what its saying. Only spots are ; fuel- tank is full, oil- its full, pto - it engages and disengages. Its disengaged now. And volts. I hooked a battery charger to it says fine, also tried to jump it just encase. Any help? If its the safety neutral switch. Where do I find it? Is there any way to over ride it?

Answer
Did you check the battery cable connections to see if they're tight and clean? A lot of times when I get a click when I try to start my mower is the battery cable connections are loose or dirty. Also, check if you might have a dead battery. If the battery is good, all cables are clean and tight, look for other connections from the battery to the starter, plus the ground cable to see if they're in good condition. If it is the neutral switch, you might have to have a deader look at it.

Which John Deere riding mower?

Nick

I have a small. Buisness that mows lawn and bags leaves in the fall and snow removal in the winter. I want something with a high back and that has. 42,48+ cutting deck. Something that's fast and reliable. Something that can bag and somethig that's great for mowing. 1-3 acres some flat and some hilly. Which one??

Answer
John Deere X500 48-inch-deck garden tractor is the top of the line in riding mowers.
