How much snow can a 19.5hp lawn mower w/ 14in plow plow?

MasterOfMa

a Craftsman LT 2000...with a 14 inch plow? how much snow can it plow? HAS 19.5hp

Answer
A 14" plow? The tractor is wider than that. The drive tires will always be outside the plowed swath and you won't be able to plow very much. Otherwise it depends on the water content of the snow and how far you have to push it. Cold, powder snow a foot deep could be moved by the little machine. If the snow is wet and heavy five or six inches may be too much.

Will this snow plow fit my Ariens Lawn Mower?

Answer
Yes that plow will fit an ariens lawn mower. Gosh I hate that sear's website though they need to learn how to program java. You may have to do some minor modifications like using different bolts but you will be fine.

Can I shovel snow with my riding lawn mower?

Jamaal

I don't have a shovel on it but can I still shovel snow btw I live in PA. and it' snowing bad.

Answer
Not efficiently. The plow blade is what actually pushes the snow away. You might be able to do a little bit without the plow attachment, but you also run the risk of ruining your lawn mower due to excessive use of the motor and transmission and water damage from the snow. You could try it, but you might be better off just buying a snow plow attachment. Living in PA, Iâm sure you will be able to use it for years to come. Below is some options from Snapper just in case you need an idea on whatâs out there.

do all craftsman plows fit all craftsman mowers?

Christophe

i have a fairly new craftsman mower and i want a plow for it but i dont know what kind of plow to put on it

Answer
A plow to PUSH things like snow or piles of sand, or a plow that pulls behind the tractor to dig the ground up for a garden ( bottom plow)? Use the model number on your tractor to search for the right plow for it here:

It doesn't have a 3 point hitch or anything special on it cause it was a lawn mower but any ideas will work! I need some ideas that i can build in my garage, thanks!

Answer
You could make a homemade york rake. You could make a weighted drum for rolling/flattening your lawn...

How early can landscapers start?

tigerlilly

We have landscapers that start mowing the lawn in the business park across the street at 6:45 am twice a week. I want to shove his lawn mower up his ass! I am not a morning person!

Answer
In the summer time we have crews that start work at 6 am so they can get their work done and beat the afternoon heat. In the winter when we plow snow we're out by 1 am to get streets, parking lots, and sidewalks cleared for when most people come to work in the morning. This is all on a college campus so there's less chance of disturbing sleeping neighbors. You might check with your local government to see if they have a specific ordinance that covers this. Or you could actually talk to the landscapers. They may be understanding.

Answer
for that amt of money, i would go to a napa dealer and look for a used simplicity mower. the simplicity, even though it is used, for the money you may get an extra 25 yrs out of the mower. if you mulch the leaves by the direction you are cutting (if u mow around a house and blow the leaves outward, then keep going around... it will cut the leaves all up and make a good fertilizer for your yard) they do have snow plow attachments, but not sure of the cost - i live in pensacola. i had a lawn care business for 10 years. a brand new mower for your price would have lasted 1 summer. they are easy to get repaired and to get parts for. they leave a beautiful cut. i don't know of any cons for the simplicity. i would suggest a 12 1/5 horse. it was my favorite.

Tips for starting an independent lawn care business?

best lawn mower and snow plow on Attachment lawn mower snow blower Lawn Mowers Tractors Compare

Mysterion

My brother and I are starting a small independent lawn care business doing things like cut grass, trim pushes, plant flowers, things like that. For anyone that has experience with a small business like that, do you have any tips? Thanks in advance.

Answer
I started my own business with purchasing a good used commercial walk-behind mower with a 48 inch wide deck, then a couple of regular lawn mowers & commercial string trimmers. You will also need a truck with four wheel drive and a trailer to carry all the equipment. The key to get your business going is advertising your services by word of mouth and local radio advertising, if you can afford the cost. I had my own business but it failed due to the competition who had money & resources and services that I didn't have because I was a one man company. You will find out that many people want their property landscaped and not just their grass cut & trimmed. The real money is not cutting grass, but in snow plowing if you live in an area that gets snow. I charged $35.00 to cut the grass of the average residential size yard, because that was the going rate across the board, but it varied in price if the yard was huge or very small. Watch out for your competitors they will cause problems for you, if they think you are a threat to their business. They use all sorts of shady tactics to eliminate competition from their area.

I am a bit of a noob in the garden and I have seen all different types of lawn mowers its all very confusing to be honest. I was wandering if any one with a keen green thumb could help me out. And also does any one know if lawnrake mowers are the same as lawn mowers; they look identical and I am easily confused...

Answer
Lawn rake mowers, don't mow they do what they say they rake the grass/ leaves into the bagger on a tractor....

I would get a 42 inch craftsman, they are cheep ( craigslist) and parts are everywhere, also mine has a snow plow....bonus for winter time

Hi, I'm getting too old to pull start my plow with its current wind up rope pull starter. Is it possible to put a recoil pull starter or an electric starter on an old tractor plow? I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks, Jim

Answer
I took the pull coil off my snow blower, lawn mower, and start them with an electric drill and a socket that fits the nut under the recoil start, ( rope pull )
