is it a 2 cycle or 4 cycle? the lawnmowers made today are mainly a 4 cycle. 4 cycles do not require mixing oil and gas and run cleaners as a result

I had to go and google "Victa" first, but now I see its a very vintage mower - cool looking!

Have you tried local antique / collectible shops? A lot in my area will carry your item for a commission, so you can set the price.

Perhaps there is a fancy local garden shop, or someone with an outdoor art garden in your area.

Australia: Can anyone recommend a good lawn mower 'edger'?

Just a middle-range one, not particularly expensive.
Preferably one you actually use that is good.
Aka a 'whipper snipper' or lawn 'trimmer' or something - I DON'T KNOW... just looking for a good brand name

I have a "Little Wonder" which were/are put out by MTD; a large Mower etc Dealer. Were made in USA and plenty of parts available if you need but rarely have any trouble. If you need it to cut back edges along paths etc it's the best one I have used, better the VICTA and most other edgers. I have 620ft of edging (in my old language) to do every now and then. Easy to use and a cinch to maintain. If you're looking for a Whipper Snipper go for a "Styll" brand and don't waste your money on the cheaper brands that are available in Bunnings and the like. Talk to a trusted mower repair shop proprietor if you know of one, as they can normally in all honesty, can tell you what brands they recommend and what cheaper brands to stay away from as most aren't repairable etc. Be careful if you're looking for an electric 240vAC one as they are in my mind not worth the bother of having to run out 50ft of lead etc, they are also too dangerous in my mind as an Electrician as you can cut the power lead easily and that adds a risk to life if you don't have an earth leakage circuit breaker or similar to save you from bigger problems, even so these electric ones are in some cases claimed to be "Double Insulated" etc. I personally wouldn't take the risk having seen some of "their" Double Insulated methods.

A: Yes it uses 25:1 ratio regular petrol mixed with 2 stroke oil. Yes it is fully functional doesn't need anything but fuel to start mowing your lawn. Thanks

how to convert a lawn mover motor witch has a vertical shaft into a horizontal shaft,?

i have considered buying a victa cylinder mower and getting the horizontal shaft engine from that but i want an easier alternative is there a way, i have heard that it is easier with a 2 stroke so if possible please help

I agree with the other answer that you have to a point.
You will be able to do this with a 2 stroke engine. You will have to fabricate a chassis to mount the thing on and when you do, make sure the fuel tank is up top (obviously!).
I am not familiar with a victa cylinder mower but if you get hold of a normal rotary and attempt to put it on it's side, you might still be okay.
The crank case on a victa 2 stroke is sealed and it relies on the oil mixed fuel for lubrication. A four stroke wont do this as it has a sump BTW. Once right, you could fit a pulley to the crank and take power off that way.
With the victa, get in touch for the other mods you may have to make. For instance, aircleaner and cable mods may be needed and the carby and float chamber will need to remain upright. While a victa looks fairly basic, if any one aspect is out of sorts, you are in big trouble!
Like most 2 strokes, they are touchy, and there may be things in relation to 'porting' that may stop you cold.
Best of luck with this, love the idea but be it on your own head.
You did not say what you wanted to power with it??
I might be able to suggest something else a little....um, lateral, pardon the pun!
PS I learned to ride a motorbike on a 2 stroke so have an idea or two....

Accomplishing something makes me happy (even really small things).
As does having successful relationships.

I dread disappointing the people I love; that is akin to failure.

I also dread starting the lawn mower (temperamental is not the adjective I use for this Victa); measuring the weeds in my garden (each one has it's own measuring stick and they take bets) and dusting (FT, you ever tried to hire a hazmat suit in Tweed Heads?)

Ya You can. but not sure about the honda clutch. You need to match the crank shaft size to the right clutch size. Harbor Freight tool might have what you need.
