I am 11 years old and i need money so i can get an Xbox 360 in about 3-4 weeks. Any ideas?
I am already going around the neighborhood asking people if there is anything i can do for them for a few bucks.
I am also a great cook if that helps at all.

if you have a lawn mower ask ur neighbors if they need their grass cut and charge 10 to 20 bucks. you try to do a lawn every day and after ten days youll have 200 bucks.

I am only 16, birthday in may. I have a small, residential lawn care business. Last summer, I mowed about 15 lawns per week, profiting about $200 per week. This year, I would like to expand my business and possibly go commercial. I have a zero turn lawn mower, 2 push mowers, 2 trimmers, and a truck/trailers. I also have access to a few employees should I need them. I have heard that around February is the right time to start marketing for the jobs in the spring. Any advice on how to get those accounts? I'm not really the greatest on bidding those huge properties, and other than going door to door and talking to the owners, I don't know how to get ahold of the clientele. I am very motivated, and have proven that I am willing to work all day every day throughout the summer, but there's also a huge liability and hesitation for hiring a teenager to cut a business owners grass. What are the going insurance rates? Any licenses I may need?

Thanks for any help

Answer
You are already "commercial" since you are handling 15 accounts. That is a small business operation. The one thing holding you back is that you can not legally sign contracts until you are 18. So you would have to hire an "adult" to be a partner for your new commercial venture. That doesn't make sense. Right now your main protection against a customer not paying you is to not mow his lawn next week. You lose one day's work. If you grow you will need binding contracts so you could go to Small Claims Court and get paid for every single day you work.
Tell every one of your current 15 that they get one free mow if they refer you a customer who uses you for 4 weeks. Then see if the local utility companies allow you to pay for ads in their monthly newsletters that accompany the bill. Then call a reporter for a local newspaper and ask her to interview you about your growing business. If they write an article about you, you will get 200 accounts.
