I've been interested in lawn mower rcing for a while now.I live in SC and haven't really got any idea of how to get started reacing myself,it seems like a fun way to spend some time and also from what Ive seen it looks like its family friendly which means I can bring my girls. How do I get started and find out where I could race when I do build a LMR?

Find a lawn mower race event, and start hanging out in the pits. Talk to the racers. Most racers are happy to talk about their machines, and most will give you tips on what to do (and what not to do!). They can also point you to resources, such as engine and chassis shops, parts houses, websites, etc.
PS: Camaraderie is one of the greatest parts about becoming a racer.

How to turn a regular riding lawn mower to a racing lawn mower?

In 2006 I bought a used Yard Machine made by MTD from Walmart for $200. I am wondering if I can turn it into a racing lawn mower.
Answer
Heck yes you can. Just modify the motor. You can get information online just google or search "lawn mower racing". And you will get a ton of info. You also need to get special racing tires and wheels put on it and I think they remove the cutting deck and possible trim it down to make it lighter. Like fiberglass hood deck and body instead of metal. Really wouldn't be that much to do and I've watched it on TV and it looks like a ton of fun!!!!!!!! Do it Man!!!!!!!!! Bobby Bouchier has nothin on you(AKA Adam Sandler in WaterBoy)
