Can you use a four-wheel lawn mower as a snow plow?

Eric

Answer
It depends whether is one of those you push by hand, or if it is one those you sit on and drive. The ones you sit (Zero Turn Mower) you can attach a snow plow to them and use them for plowing.

Ah I don't think you want to try to put a snow plow on a ZTR or (Zero Turn Mower) if you prefer in fact I don't believe they even make a plow for a ZTR. the reason is because a ztr has a dual hydrostatic Transmission and you couldn't control it in the snow. However you can and they do make plows for most garden Tractors Like John Deere or Cub Cadet and so on. So to answer your question Yes you can use a four-wheel lawn mower as a snow plow. Btw if you should decide to use one for that purpose it would be advisable to remove the mowing deck before use.

Lawn Mower Snow Plow ???

How much weight do you typically put on a lawn tractor when you use it for snow removal THANKS

Answer
I don't use any extra weight on mine, I use a 07' Dixon with a SnowSport ZTR plow. I suppose it might depend on the plow you are using, to keep the plow tight to the ground you could probably just buy a hold down strap/ down pressure strap, they cost about 25 dollars. If you want to take a look at what kind of plow I am using, here is a link to their site: http://www.buysnowsportplows.com/product/snowplows/snowsportztr
