my lawn mower has issues. somehow the blades are messing up and grinding together and making a terrible noise. I need to buy a new one now.
does anyone know how much the average price for a used lawn mower is?

I bet your could get one for as low as 50 bucks at a pawn shop... Here is a link to the cheapest one at walmart for 129.99

Weigh your options... If you have the money buy the new one...it will pay for itself in a couple months in comparison to if you paid someone to mow...
Mowers with at least 5.5 horsepower perform just as well as mowers with stronger engines. So keep that in mind. Also a self propelled mower would be nice. (one that drives itself with no need to push the mower)

a Husqvarna is by far the best.next would be a john deere.never get a Lowe's brand mower,ours is a piece of junk.we have put over 500 in parts on that thing in 1 season and it wont run at all still.
