I live in Connecticut, in a large suburban area. Each yard is about 1/4 acre.
How much should I charge per lawn? I was thinking of a baseline ($20) and increasing prices based on time, about $20 per hour. So a 1/2 hour job would cost $30, an hour job would cost $40, a 1 1/2 hour job would be $50, etc..
Do you think these rates are reasonable?
And also, I will be using an old fashioned push reel mower. How long might each job take?
And what other things can I do? I was thinking edging, trimming shrubbery, weeding, and cleaning the gutters (all jobs I do at home). And raking leaves in fall. I would charge a few extra dollars for each job ($5 for edging, $5 trimming, $2 weeding, etc.).
Thanks!! :D

Surely your not going to show up for a paying lawn job with "an old fashion reel mower" ! Let your customers think your somewhat professional with a self propelled gas mower ! If you seriously don't already own one, pick one up on craigslist in your area for under $100. Definitely get self propelled as it does a lot of the grunt work! I estimate my lawns that I cut based on $25/hour. Know how long it will take you before quoting price! This price includes string trimming and using a blower on driveway/sidewalks. In my area I base misc yard work that does not involve power equipment on $15/hour. Don't nickel and dime with $2 to weed, $5 for trimming...... you'll drive your potential customers crazy. Keep it simple!

Should I replace my lawn mower or get it fixed?

My 7-year-old Toro self-propelled lawn mower's cord is off so the self-propelled part doesn't work, the engine will no longer start (it wasn't fully engaged last time I used it... it was running slow and loud with a lot of smoke and used a lot of gasoline). The last time I got my mower serviced it was over $100. The newer model Toro is $350-$400.
At this point should I just buy a new one with all those problems?

It sounds like it is time for a new mower.
If you buy the new mower will you get 7 Years out of it? That is hard to tell.
