attaching the idler arm on my lawn mower?

Teddy Tile

while mowing the grass this weekend, the idler pully on my 48 inch deck craftsman lawn mower exploded (pully broke). i was able to get a new pully, put it on the deck, and reassemble it....but, i cannot figure out where the spring attaches thats on the idler arm. one end of the spring is attached to the idler arm, and the other end goes somewhere on the deck BUT I HAVE NO CLUE WHERE. could someone please explain it? assume im standing behind the deck looking towards the front.

thanks in advance! all tips and ideas welcome!
i did check the parts manual, but it doesnt show what it hooks onto...it only shows the spring.

Answer
Okay, this is quite an easy fix and the spring attaches to a small pole next to the left hand pulley (as you're sitting on the mower) and to the rear of the pulley cowling. The way to attach the spring is to get a 3/32/ inch steel rod and make a hook at one end and a means to grip at the other (handle) and slip the hook over the spring and pull until the spring is over the bar, then tap the spring down onto the riser bar then release the hook.
