It's a briggs and stratton 3.75 weed eater sprint 2 walk behind lawn mower and I need to clean the carburetor.
the mower runs only when I push the primer button continuosly.
I'm asking for a step by step walkthrough .
I know I'll have to remove the spark plug first, then drain the gas.
and then what? take the cover off or remove the gas tank?
please help me with this ,I don't have the 50.00 it will cost to have a repair man clean it.
thank you for your help.
I greatly appreciate it.
if you've seen a weed eater sprint 2 , you'll see there is the tank, the throttle and the air filter.
where is the bowl?
does this model have one?
well I pulled off the tank and the little contraption where the prime button is. but it looks like that's all. everything else is inside the motor.
what have I done so far? this is a briggs and stratton 3.75 weed eater. several years old. sprint II

Answer
This is a delicate task that will involve small parts, screws, diaphragms etc. It is not for the faint of heart/unskilled. A quick on-line search should give you some pointers, but you can start by trying some carb cleaner shot into the carb to see if you can get the needle valves cleared etc. That may be all you need.

Lawn mower leaks gas on top of motor. The oil filter is soaked with gas. How can I fix this problem.?

I have a craftsman walk behind lawn mower. There is gas on top of the engine and the oil filter is soaked with gas. I need some suggestions on how to fix this problem. Thanks

Answer
try putting a cork or rubber gasket in the gas tank cap or if the tank is leaking it's self you can use redkote gas tank liner sealer.
